My account was paused/suspended why did I get billed?

It is possible that you get billed even after you pause your account. This is because, on the first of each billing month, we create an automatic invoice for each active subscription. If your account is not paused by 11:59 p.m ET the month prior (i.e for a billing month of November, you must pause your subscription by October 31 11:59 p.m ET) an invoice will be created for your subscription. We try to collect the invoice using the default payment method on your account. If the charge fails, the system automatically retries the charge up to 5 times over the following three(3) weeks. Pausing your account during this window, may still result in a charge if one of the subsequent retries succeeds.

Pausing your account only means that no future invoices will be "collected" but it doesn't apply to any prior invoice created before the subscription was paused.
